At Green Mountain College, we offer high quality academics with small class sizes
and excellent faculty who are very involved in your learning. No matter what
you study here, we want you to be well prepared for the world after
GMC. That's why your academic experience is interdisciplinary, experiential,
and service oriented.
Interdisciplinary
You can't solve a problem if you only see one side of the argument. Your classes
at GMC will help you explore all sides of complex issues so you have an appreciation
of many perspectives and better understand how to solve problems.
Experiential
It's fine (and even important) to learn from classroom lectures, but then you
need to get out and see how those lessons apply in the real world! We emphasize
field trips, internships, study abroad, and many other ways of putting you in
touch with the world outside your classroom.
Service Oriented
Nearly half of our faculty use service learning in their classes. Service learning
is when your class pairs up with a community organization to perform a service
project as part of your course work.
