Previous | Next Erika Cowley '08 Meet Our Tour Guides Hometown: Oberlin, OH High School: Oberlin Senior High School Major: Adventure Recreation Connecting with GMC: When I left Green Mountain College after my campus visit I knew I wanted to come here. I loved the small campus, I loved the fact that there is a farm right behind the library, I loved the environmental focus and outdoor recreation opportunities. Since I got here none of those feelings have changed. I've discovered that GMC provides a friendly environment, a great faculty and a wide range of incredible clubs and events. Even though we are a small school there are a ton of things to do and ways to get involved. Currently, I actively participate in the Recreation Club and lead backpacking trips for Green MAP, and just enjoy hanging out with my friends. These opportunities allow me to go out and explore the surrounding area (which I definitely suggest!). Vermont is beautiful and one of my favorite things to do is go out hiking or check out a new town. There are so many places, ideas and experiences to explore and GMC allows students the chance to do that. Advice to prospective students: Ask a lot of questions and look for a college that meets your interests where you could see yourself being truly happy. |
