Something surprising about me: I have mountain biked the infamous Moab slick rock trail (backwards, the "hard" way) in way less than the recommended three hours.

What "the environment" means to me: Everything--the good, the bad, the ugly, all of it.

Research interests: Beech bark disease, forest ecosystems

Favorite research project with a student: Setting up our beech bark disease monitoring site and "testing out" our system at Deane Preserve.
