Meet Some Of Our International Students
Home Country: Honduras
Major: Business and Environmental Management
Minors: Economics and Recreation
Why did you choose GMC?
Green Mountain College is a small liberal arts school that has a strong emphasis on the environment.
Green Mountain College will give me the knowledge necessary to help in the contribution of the natural resources protection by creating awareness among society.
What do you miss most about home?
There are times I wish to have my family and friends with me. But, GMC students, faculty, and staff have treated me as a new member in the family. I love it here! Through me they are also being part of this new experience in my life.
Describe your hometown in 5 words or less:
La Ceiba: A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO LIVE.
Most interesting US experience?
Getting to learn from a culture different mine is giving me the experience necessary to go back to my country and make a difference among my people.
Contributions to GMC:
The interaction with different people at Green Mountain College has given me the opportunity to be the Freshmen Representative, MUN Director, Vice-President of Administration for College Programming Board, Vice-President for the Make a Difference Scholars, member of the Mentoring, African American, and International Awareness/Cultures of the World Clubs.
I am here to "Make A Difference"- along my college career I will make this happen at Green Mountain College.
Describe what you find most unique about GMC:
Green Mountain College is located in a small town Poultney, Vermont; a place that has the friendliest people there can be found. I have not felt myself in a school, but in a community. A pleasant community, where everyone one turns to is a family.
What piece of advice can you give to prospective international students?
If I made it this far, why don’t you give it a try? Green Mountain College is the place you will have the opportunity to interact with your teachers and classmates while learning. Your voice will be heard, and by the time you are done you will realize it was worth it!
