Meet Some Of Our International Students
Home Country: Ghana
Major: Business
Why did you choose GMC?
I fell in love with GMC because of its exceptionally small size, environmental mission, and its beautiful campus.
What do you miss most about home?
I miss my friends and family, but most of all my local food. I must say though that I am almost used to American food now even though I try to cook my native food once in a while.
Describe your hometown in 5 words or less:
Historic, beautiful, peaceful, and culturally diverse.
Most interesting US experience?
So far I have really enjoyed the field trips organized by the school for the images of nature class. I have camped in places and toured places I would never have visited on my own.
Contributions to GMC:
In collaboration with the make a difference scholars, I am helping to set up an Intercultural Centre which will provide information about different cultures to the GMC Community.
Describe what you find most unique about GMC:
It's a close knit campus. Faculty and staff deal with students as colleagues. From the president to the janitor, every one treats each other with respect and dignity. I find this very encouraging.
What piece of advice can you give to prospective international students?
I found GMC because of its excellent academic excellence, but my experience so far is amazing. It is a place to grow not only in academics but physically, emotionally and socially in an environmentally conscious atmosphere. I certainly made the right choice and I hope you do too because it is an experience that is unique to GMC that will make a positive lasting impression on you.
