College is a great time to challenge yourself in many ways and discover things you didn't know you could do. Our adventure programming office helps you do that with plenty of fun, safe, challenging trips that will encourage you to step outside your "comfort zone." These trips are for everyone -- you don't need any experience. However, if you have a passion for outdoor adventure, don't be surprised to find yourself in training to be a leader.
Most weekends, students have the opportunity to go on backpacking, kayaking, canoeing rock climbing, or ice climbing trips led by the GreenMAP (Green Mountain Adventure Programming) Office. We've got an ideal environment for it; we're located between the Adirondack, Green and Taconic Mountains, just south of Lake Champlain.
GreenMAP also has a stock of all kind of outdoor and camping equipment to rent, and organizes the Wilderness Challenge for first-year students, a five-day backpacking new-student-orientation trip to help expand comfort zones and build self-confidence.
